Anti Bark Collars - Nothing Inhumane About Them at All

There are lots of dog owners who disaprove the use of anti bark collars, considering them to be some inhumane if not even torture devices, but the very same people are subjecting their pets to extremely emotional upset, and even cruelty on some occasions. Some dogs rarely bark, but there are also those who rarely stop barking, and unless you live in the middle of nowhere, your neighbors are going to complain, and of course they’ll have every right to. Incessantly barking will eventually drive anyone up the wall. Excessive barking, especially at inappropriate times will get you into trouble not only with your neighbours, but also with the law. The legislation of most countries stipulates that the owner can be forced to get rid of his dog if this is causing disturbances continuously.

After all those years you have been together with your dog, it will be a significant emotional disturbance to be forced to give him or her to another owner. What is really the worst, if the dog continues to disturb people through its barking behaviour, the new owner will get rid of it too. Eventually the barking loving dog will find itself in an animal shelter, and most probably on the receiving end of a lethal injection. Of course the opposants of electric bark collars never thought that this kind of situation may occur if some dog owner gives up at using the device.

Unfortunately though, the vast majority of people have seen movies where a dog has been tortured using a shock collar, and they’ve read reports on how cruel these collars are. Though those who have written such scenarios and reports claim to be the most lovings of the dog lovers, they never took the time to actually research about the anti bark collars. Some are even under the impression that you need to shave a section of the dog’s neck, in much the same way criminals are shaved in preparation for the electric chair. Can you believe that some of these reporters are so misinformed so that they claim to have seen burn marks on these dogs’ necks? How could two small AA batteries general enough charge to burn or harm anything?.

The electronic Anti Bark Collars should better be called “tingle” collars than this awfully looking shock collars. After all, when you take your jumper off on a hot and humid day, and you touch something and get a tiny shock, one can’t really describe it as being painful. Yes it gives you a fright, but it’s by no means painful, and it can certainly do you no harm.

There are thousands of dogs alive today just thanks to these collars. They have been used as a last resort by many dog owners, but have been proven effective in just a couple of days. Moreover, most Anti Bark Collars firstly issue a warning beep before and shock is administered. The electric shock is administered gradually, if the dog continues barking after the warning beep. With that said, even the most powerful shock is little more than what we know as a static shock. After all, there are only two tiny batteries delivering the charge in the first place.

The right nickname of these electronic Anti Bark Collars should be in fact “tingle” collars. The intensity of the electric shock is adjustable. Most Anti Bark Collars firstly issue a warning beep.
